AFRL Scholars Program Administration advises that any housing arrangements should not be finalized until an offer has been accepted and a stipend award letter has been signed. Until that point, internship positions cannot be guaranteed.
Housing information for the next internship session will be updated as it becomes available. Check back soon!
Below are testimonials from previous AFRL Scholars that provide insights into the internship housing arrangements experience:
“Casas Del Rio was great in nearly every way. They have great leadership. The only problem I encountered was that they lost some of my mail.” – 2017
“Casas is a fantastic option. Close to base, close to food, close to everything.” – 2017
“UNM is a great place for scholars to stay. First, it is within walking distance of Nob Hill. Second, a lot of AFRL and Sandia scholars stay there also. Third, I was able to stay there for the whole duration of my internship.” – 2017
“Casas del Rio was ideal. Not too expensive. Rooms were large and accommodating.” – 2017
“Casas del Rio was a very nice place to stay. It was clean and comfortable and only a few minutes away from base.” – 2017
“Casas del Rio was a good location, close to base. The quality of the dorms were good. Because it was summertime, they did not have as many housing applicants and I was able to have a 2-person room to myself.” – 2017
“Staying near UNM was I think the best choice I could have made. There are plenty of restaurants and stuff to do around here. There are also enough interns staying close by that you feel a sense of community and not isolated. I would recommend staying here at Casas or Redondo or anywhere else near campus for new interns.” – 2017
“The housing at UNM was very adequate for the summer. It's a good location, cheaper than many other places, and is furnished. It was also easy to meet other scholars.” – 2017
