Eligibility Requirements

  • Recent Bachelor’s, Master’s, Juris Doctorate, or Ph.D., graduate no more than two years past degree receipt at the time of application. Must have obtained the degree by the start date. Can apply if the degree is in progress.
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday, 8 am – 5 pm or as determined by mentor.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, potentially resulting in a Secret Security Clearance.
  • On the start date, cannot hold a current internship or fellowship sponsored by AFRL and/or the United States Space Force (USSF).
  • Must certify vaccination status within 7 days of accepting an offer.
    • USRA requires all individuals to comply with federal COVID-19 safety guidelines if working at a U.S. Government facility. This includes any requirements for vaccinations and testing. Individuals that are unvaccinated must comply with base testing requirements. Government facility policies supersede USRA’s Infectious Disease and Pandemic Control policy. SPs will be provided with specific safety guidelines and requirements for their assigned Government facility prior to their start date. Please note that these policies and requirements are subject to change depending on CDC guidance or Executive order mandates.
